Ancestry Saturday: A Bizarre Double Murder

This week yielded an interesting find. Elaine in Genoa City, Wisconsin, who has spent 50 years in genealogical research on her family, told of the death of an uncle of hers. It's my kids' uncle too.

Henry Koldeway was murdered in 1879 in Todd County, Minnesota, the victim of a dispute in a love triangle that included a town lynching to boot.

My kids great great grandmother Barbara Disselbrett was a key prosecution witness too as she testified being threatened by the murderers herself before they move on from her house and killed her brother-in-law, Henry.

The whole story, including transcribed newspaper accounts, is online.
