Ancestry Saturday: Preserving My 10th Great Grandparents' Wedding Site
The preservation of my 10th great grandparents' wedding site made Fox News on Wednesday. That's pretty cool.
The exact location of the wedding of Pocahontas and John Rolfe on 5 April 2014 has been reportedly been discovered. Plans call for an appropriate historical marker on the location of the event.

Ancestry Saturday: Sharing the Rolfe Bible

My cousin Karen McKenzie shared a recent find of hers. I share it with the public domain.
It's the Rolfe Bible.
The Earl Gregg Swem Library at the College of William and Mary has on display the family bible believed to be owned by my 10th great grandfather, John Rolfe.
It was Rolfe, not Captain John Smith like the cartoons portrayed, who married Pocahontas.
The museum kindly shared photos of the cover, coat of arms, and accompanying note that gives it some sense of authenticity.
The museum is ensuring it stays around awhile. Perhaps the owner's 11th great grand kids can see it some day.
